Worship/Divine Liturgy
Then Jesus took bread, gave thanks, broke it, and gave it to the apostles, saying,
"This is my body which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me."
After supper he did the same with the cup, saying,
"This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you "
Luke 22:19-20 (The New International Translation of the Bible by the Japan Bible Society)
Divine Liturgy
We believe that gathering together for the Divine Liturgy every Sunday and sharing the bread and wine (the Eucharist), which are the Body and Blood of the Lord Jesus Christ, is a fundamental duty of the Church.
Through sharing the Eucharist from one bread and one cup, we become one with Christ and one another, and the "new gathering of the people of God, the Church," in which Christ is gathered, is realized.
It is the repeated receipt of the Eucharist (Holy Communion) that is the source of each believer's restoration to communion with God.
We live each day with gratitude and place great importance on attending church and receiving sacramental prayer, so that grace may extend from fellowship with God to fellowship with our neighbors.
All prayer in the Church is centered around the Divine Liturgy.
The Eucharist is shared by only among Orthodox Christians.
We do not offer open communion or inter-communion to non-believers or people of other confessions.
