The Holy Autonomous Orthodox Church in Japan

About Us
We are a parish of the Orthodox Church.
The Orthodox Church is also known as the Eastern Orthodox Church.
The Eastern Orthodox Church spread from the Middle East, where Christianity originated, to Greece, Eastern Europe, Ukraine, Russia, and other countries, and has since spread throughout the world, mainly through immigrants from those regions.
The Church was introduced to Japan by the Russian missionary Nikolai Kasatkin (St. Nicholas, the Enlightener of Japan, Equal to Apostles) at the end of the Edo period.
The centre of the life of Orthodox Christians is the Eucharist which is shared at Divine Liturgy on Sunays and various holidays. We maintains the spirituality of the early church.
What do we believe, think, and live by?
Christians are all different, but what we all have in common is that we each walk in society with God at the centre.
We have previously made several videos introducing our way of thinking and living, so we would like to share them to you.
